A handful of happy things from the month of May…
The Chronicles of Narnia
The journey was lovely, and it ended with The Last Battle over quarantine. Mr. Lewis brought it all to a sweeping finish that left me sighing with mingled longing and contentment.
“All their life in this world and all their adventures had only been the cover page: now at last they were beginning chapter one of the great story which no one on earth has read: which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before.”
– The Last Battle
Overalls
I didn’t buy an Easter dress this spring, so I bought denim overalls. I’ve got pockets for anything and everything (which makes them better than an Easter dress). Thanks, Old Navy.
This is a TV series about Jesus’s disciples that my family discovered around Easter. It takes careful liberties to delve into the stories behind characters like Matthew, Peter, Nicodemus, and Mary Magdalene. We’ve been surprised and enraptured by the show, which is incredibly well-done and Jesus-focused.
You can watch Season 1 free on YouTube.
While the hiking trails nearby have been closed, this podcast has been a breath of alpine air. I tell my friends it’s like a nature/science/adventure documentary without the video. This is not a Christian resource, but it’s been a reminder to me of God’s masterful creation and the thrill of exploring it.
My favorite episode— The Quietest Place in the World— has me listening carefully to the things he’s made.
What got you happy in May?
My new granddaughter, Mia Emilia was born on May 19th. All four of my grandkids make me happy❤️❤️❤️❤️
So glad you had a nice May! Thanks for sharing it!

Narnia is simply fantastic and full of beauty and brilliance. And The Chosen is a wonderful show! My family and I watched it this past month, and it is definitely a new favorite. ❤
