August 18
It’s been a crazy, hard, good, busy week and God has been carving truths into my heart. Here’s one:
His plan is perfect.
I like to schedule out my hours, my days, and my life. Just this week, I bought a calendar to set on my desk. I scribble words into the boxes because I like to know what tomorrow holds.
But with the passion to plan comes a craving for control.
When my plans go wobbly and threaten to upturn, the veins on my fists start popping. My fingers scramble for the steering wheel. I cling to false reassurances.
I’ve got this. I’m in control. My plans are perfect.
God knows where to find my pressure point and his Word pries open my hands:
The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; he frustrates the plans of the peoples. The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the plans of his heart to all generations (Ps. 33:10-11).
Letting my plans slip into God’s hand reaps otherworldly freedom and a heart of thankfulness. A heart that says, “Thank you, God, for your perfect plan. Thank you I’m not in control.”
Bethany,
This snippet touched my heart so much. I can’t explain how much I needed to hear this, and how God truly used this. Thanks so much for letting Him use you. I’m truly blessed. ❤

This Is something I very much needed to hear. To often do I plan and say “Gods will be done” but it’s really, my will be done. Thank you for sharing. It’s very humbling and encouraging. Grace and peace.
