December 3
Thou Who Wast Rich Beyond All Splendor
December is here and Christmas fast approaching!
One of my favorite things about this time of year is the abundance of rich music and joyful song all around me. December is just about the only month that you can walk into Kohl’s and here the lyrics O night Divine, when Christ was born! playing clearly throughout the store.
Today I want to share with you a less popular, but deeply meaningful Christmas carol that ties extremely well into the Christmas series that I began last week. After reading through these words, click on the link below to listen to this song performed by Keith and Kristyn Getty.
Thou who wast rich beyond all splendor
All for love’s sake becamest poor;
Thrones for a manger did surrender,
Sapphire paved courts for stable floor.
Thou who wast rich beyond all splendor
All for love’s sake becamest poor.
Thou who art Love beyond all telling,
Savior and King, we worship Thee.
Emmanuel, within us dwelling,
Make us what Thou wouldst have us be.
Thou who art Love beyond all telling,
Savior and King, we worship Thee.
Thou who art God beyond all praising,
All for love’s sake becamest man;
Stooping so low, but sinners raising
Heav’nwards by Thine eternal plan.
Thou who art God beyond all praising,
All for love’s sake becamest man.
